The aim of this research is to examine the connection between alcohol consumption and the occurrence of violence. The research was conducted in Bosnia and Herzegovina using a multimethod approach that includes the use of qualitative and quantitative data. 2770 young people aged 18 to 35 participated in the quantitative research. The focus groups included 9 representatives of young people and 11 representatives of relevant institutions dealing with education, youth issues, addiction prevention and protection of victims of violence. The questionnaire and focus group guides included questions aimed at examining the socio-demographic characteristics of the respondents, their own preferences and preferences of parents' alcohol consumption. Furthermore, the effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on alcohol consumption habits and violence was examined, as well as experiences of committed and experienced violence, environmental reactions to violence, access to support for victims of violence, and identification of potential strategies to prevent alcohol consumption and youth violence.
